ABOUT SCOTT
Scott C. Woodcox was born and raised in Wyoming, where he naturally developed a great passion for nature, wildlife and photography.  He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a B.S. degree in petroleum engineering.  Following graduation he went to work for a natural gas production pipeline company where he supervised drilling and workover rigs in Colorado, Utah and New Mexico.  He never lost his love for the outdoors and photography.  During slow times on the rigs, he spent time wandering off with camera in hand, searching for wildlife or other scenery to photograph.

In 1990, after experiencing some confusing symptoms, Scott was finally diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).  Due to increasing difficulties with the disease, he reluctantly had to leave his engineering responsibilities in late 1991.  Dealing with the uncertainties of MS, Scott decided to explore the photographer waiting inside him.  Not only did he spend time in the field, as his health allowed, but he also studied photography by taking correspondence courses, from his bed, with the New York Institute of Photography (NYI).  After his NYI graduation, Scott turned his attention to capturing natural history images on film as often as he could.  As his condition worsens, many things are very difficult, but nothing seems to be harder than spending long days, weeks and even months in bed.  Nonetheless, he takes every opportunity he can to travel, and will spend weeks at a time, health permitting, outdoors adding to his collection of beautiful images.

Scott established Woodlife Photography in 1993.  As you look over his collection of limited edition photographs, you will see his love for nature and wonderful scenery expressed in these magnificent images.  From the years of ups and downs, Scott has learned great patience that allows him to wait for the perfect picture.

Currently Scott and his wife Susanne, make their home in Salt Lake City, Utah where Scott shows his work in a small gallery located at 3738 South 900 East.  He has been published in Outdoor Photographer, Utah Highways, and Discovery magazines and has done promotional work for Alaska Discovery in Juneau.  Scott displays images in the National Bighorn Sheep Interpretive Center in Dubois, Wyoming, and in The Center for Colon & Rectal Diseases 348 East 4500 South #200 (SLC).  Much of his work can also be seen in many other Utah businesses, and throughout the Intermountain West.
